Obituary for Louis H. Souders

Louis H.  Souders
Louis H. Souders, 70, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 4, 1946 in Harrisburg and was the son of the late Arthur H. and Ada L. (Berluti) Souders.
He was a 1964 graduate of the Middletown High School. Louis was an Army veteran of the 101 Airborne Screaming Eagles during the Vietnam War where he received The Jumping Mustang Certificate of Achievement for outstanding performance of duty as a combat infantryman in the jungles of Vietnam.
He was a carpenter and worked at Three Mile Island and the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a past commander and member of the American Legion Post 594, Middletown and also coached the Legion's baseball team. Louis enjoyed golfing, watching Penn State Football and entertaining.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha (Grosso) Souders; two daughters, Lisa M. Smith and her finace, John H. Troup of Middletown and Stacy A. Souders of Middletown; grandchildren, Kevin and Kylie Smith, Jonah Troup, Tyler L. and Austin L. Malehorn; four siblings, James, George, and Ronald Souders and Arda Matinchek.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17th, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 260 E. Main St. Middletown, with the Rev. Ted Keating officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
