Obituary for Nancy K. Clark

Nancy K. Clark, 73, currently of Middletown, formerly of Wilsonville, AL entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home.
She was born on March 24, 1943 in Birmingham, AL to the late Aubrey Day and Ruby (Whorton) Woolley.
Nancy had degrees in History and Education from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. She taught history at several schools in Mobile, AL.
Nancy was a devoted wife and mother, and she enjoyed mysteries and cheering for her favorite sports teams: the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and the Auburn Tigers. She yelled “War Eagle” for every good play for every team.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Bearden Clark.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Shirley Clark of Middletown; son, John Clark and his wife Lisa Hummel of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons, Isaac and Zachary Clark, and a cousin, Judy Whorton of Willsonville. She also is mourned deeply by her adopted family, Kenneth Brasher and Cheryl Alford of Wilsonville, and Cathy McDonnell of Dillsburg.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Nancy’s name to the University of Montevallo to support teacher education or to the St. Louis Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Mentoring Program.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. for the funeral arrangements.
